Terms of Participation

Clear, plain-language guidelines governing entry, intellectual property retention, and event attendance for Future Now Roadshow 2026/27.

1. Programme Identity & Cost

Future Now Roadshow is an independent youth innovation and creative excellence programme. Participation in all hackathons, regional expos, masterclasses, and the Ibadan Grand Finale is 100% free of charge. No entry fee, evaluation fee, or ticket fee may ever be charged to young people.

2. Intellectual Property Ownership & Showcase Licence [CONFIRM]

We firmly uphold creator rights and economic empowerment:

  • Full Ownership Retained: Entrants in all three tracks retain 100% legal and beneficial ownership of their original software code, business inventions, musical recordings, video works, and creative designs.
  • Non-Exclusive Showcase Licence: By submitting an entry, the entrant grants Future Now Roadshow and its organising partners a limited, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to broadcast, exhibit, publish excerpts of, and spotlight the work across media channels, event stages, impact reports, and promotional documentaries solely for programme administration and educational purposes.
  • Commercial Freedom: Entrants remain completely free to license, patent, sell, or commercialise their work with any third party at any time without restriction or obligation to the programme.

3. Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Band: Open to individuals, micro-enterprises, small & medium businesses (SMEs), and teams where participants are aged 18 to 35 on the challenge closing date of 30 November 2026.
  • Track Structure: Build for Oyo (Tech) and Farm Smart Oyo (Agri) welcome solo founders, micro-enterprises, SMEs, and teams of 2–5 members residing in Oyo State.
  • Oyo's Most Creative: Entrants must be indigenous citizens of one of the 33 Local Government Areas in Oyo State (self-declared upon entry; confirmed offline for shortlisted finalists).

4. Code of Conduct & Collaboration

All roadshow stops and digital forums are dedicated innovation spaces. Participants, judges, and attendees must uphold mutual respect, cultural dignity, and collaborative integrity. Disruption or unprofessional conduct is strictly prohibited at event venues.

5. Disqualification Grounds

The programme committee reserves the right to screen out or disqualify entries in cases of:

  • Plagiarism or misappropriation of another person's intellectual property.
  • Fraudulent age or indigene declarations.
  • Vote tampering, automated bot bursts, or bloc-voting manipulation.
  • Harassment, hate speech, or defamatory creative content.
